Oil Colour Guide

Despite being the most classic medium to master, Oil painting is excellent for beginners thanks to its slow drying time and rich colours which make this medium surprisingly forgiving. It is suited to both detailed work as well as looser, free flowing and expressive styles. This guide explains everything from colour mixing through to how to choose a support and includes the key oil painting techniques including scumbling, blending, stippling and glazing.
